Embarrassment and Obedience: Trust a Clean Heart!

Last night was the beginning of our local church Revival! It was a great night being in the Presence of God! Praise , prayer, worship, and dining on the meat at His table! Pastor De Graves spoke about 'Christ being alive in you, and being a royal priesthood, and Lodebar, Jonathan, and Mephibosheth' God spoke to my heart and I was awed, and amazed!

Then it happened! Sister Mixon asked me to pray and dismiss the service.  I said "sure."

Normally I don't have issues with prayer in public, but this time was different. The Holy Spirit stopped me right smack dab in the middle of it and said to me, "Don't stop praising me!"

What might have been embarrassing for some people, was, what I thought, an opportunity of obedience for me. Time to step out of the boat again, focus on Jesus, and trust a clean heart! Jesus carried me through the awkward part. I was nervous, because this had never happened to me before.

I spoke to the pastor afterwards, and he assured me that "I was not alone, and it had happened to him several times." Whew. What a relief!

This morning God spoke to my heart again, and brought me to Luke. I thought about this and have made some similarities. Perhaps just for me, but I wanted to share with my friends and followers.

1Many people have set out to write accounts about the events that have been fulfilled among us. 2They used the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples. 3Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write an accurate account for you, most honorable Theophilus, 4so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught.

Why would God bring me to this? as I continued to read further, I realized I wasn't alone in my experience. Totally different circumstances, but a Godwink perhaps. I'm not the Jewish priest Zechariah, but I knew the story. He was chosen to burn incense and pray.

v19Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! 20But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.” 21Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah to come out of the sanctuary, wondering why he was taking so long. 22When he finally did come out, he couldn’t speak to them. Then they realized from his gestures and his silence that he must have seen a vision in the sanctuary.

I was completely moved by what I read. As I kept reading I was happy to learn that finally in v80 John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel.

For what it's worth, my mom always told me that I would be in the ministry, but I never really believed her. That's peculiar though, because I always believed everything else she had told me. Always trust a clean heart! If you are sitting on the fence, remember you are gonna land somewhere? One inch outside of Heaven is smack dab in the middle of Hell! Choose to walk with Jesus today! Be obedient to His Word! Test the spirits...1john 4: and know this:

4But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 5Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. 6But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

Short, sweet, and to the point! LOVE! Have a blessed day! Rob
